GOLD EARRINGS / ŽUPA DUBROVAČKA

Traditional gold pearl earrings called “vrećini” were worn on festive occasions in the area of Župa dubrovačka, mostly on weddings, festive celebrations and so on.

Today, the impression is that these earrings almost vanished, but it is more likely that they themselves retained the ancient rule of the limited home-leaving.

Traditionally they were inherited within the family and have gained, beside their material value, also the emotional value over the years.
